Netch Azmud ነጭ አዝሙድ – White Cumin

Netch Azmud, also called white cumin, is excellent for starchy foods such as root vegetables, legumes, breads, and beans. In the Ethiopian cuisine, it is a popular ingredient in soups, curry powder, and spice blends such as Berbere, pastries, confections and even beverages.

The spice is especially known for making foods more digestible, and is said to prevent cramps and rheumtism.

In Ethiopia, Netch Azmud is cultivated at an altitude of 1500 to 20 meters above sea levels, among teff millet and barley.
